This project reimagines traditional recipe cards for the physical recipe box. The goal was to create a format that is easy to identify and navigate when quickly flipping through a collection of cards. A vertical sidebar system highlights key information—such as preparation time and serving size—so users can immediately identify a recipe while browsing.
Illustrated ingredient icons were introduced to break up the text and visually guide the reader through the recipe. These elements not only create moments of visual pause but also reinforce the information in a clear and engaging way.
To preserve the feeling of a personal, home-kept recipe collection, I selected typefaces that feel handwritten and warm. The design process began with color, using bright tones to create a playful and inviting personality. Realistic food photography adds appetite appeal while balancing the illustrative elements, resulting in recipe cards that feel both practical and personal.
